The boys lowered their own school record they set last year and qualified for the finals seeded 2nd tomorrow in the 4x400. The girls tied the school and Class C state record set by Ainsley, Pavan, London, and Taylor Walnofer at the state meet last year. After the girls placed 8th overall and after miscommunication among officials about qualifiers, they are taking 11 to finals and 9 will medal!

This March/April our students participated in an exciting Picture Book Tournament—and it was a slam dunk for reading! Students read or listened to two picture books and voted on their favorite in a fun, bracket-style competition. From the Sweet 16 all the way to the Championship Round, our readers were engaged, thoughtful, and enthusiastic about every matchup. They read, they voted, and in the end one book was crowned the 2025 Champion! Thank you for encouraging reading at home and supporting a joyful learning experience! Be sure to check out our bulletin board or photo to see the winning book and highlights from the tournament!

After reading an AOW about the benefits of spring, students had to write a persuasive paragraph about why they should get nature time in English. After a successful argument, one group chose to plant flowers, and another one decided to enjoy sunshine at Mill Race Park.

Nancy Weber, aka Fancy Grandma Nancy, came to kindergarten as our next Mystery Reader to read "Fancy Nancy and the Delectable Cupcakes," by Jane O'Connor. After reading the story Nancy brought cupcakes to share her cake decorating talent with the students. Each student decorated a "delectable cupcake" to enjoy during snack time. The smiles on the students says it all, thank you Fancy Grandma Nancy!
