The 9th & 10th Grade English students studied caricatures with our literary terms. What better way to learn about caricatures and the importance of descriptive details in our writing than creating caricatures of ourselves using AI generators?! We had many laughs once our results came through. Can you guess who any of these characters would be?

West Holt Elementary School participated in the 2025 Share the Magic Foundation READBowl, a global reading competition for grades PreK-8th grade. It is designed to inspire students to read and provides teachers with the support to motivate students to increase reading minutes. Share the Magic Foundation was founded by Super Bowl Champion and children’s book author, Malcolm Mitchell. The READBowl began on January 13th and ended Super Bowl Sunday. Preschool-6th Grade read a total of 193,455 minutes averaging to about 904 minutes per student. We had a friendly competition to see which grade level could read the most minutes. In 3rd place, with a grand total of 31,820 minutes was the 4th grade class. In 2nd place, with an amazing 32,843 minutes was the 2nd grade class. Our 1st place champions, reading an impressive 33,456 minutes was the 3rd grade class. A huge congratulations to each and every one of our students for working so hard and making this reading challenge a success! Keep turning those pages and discovering new adventures—because every minute you read makes you smarter, stronger, and more amazing!
