The junior high technology students have been chatting with the elementary kids about their favorites and West Holt!

Today, Sunday, Dec. 15th, is the last day of the Scholastic Book Fair at the Atkinson Elementary Library. I am open now from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. We are still over $300 from our goal, or $3800.

The third through sixth grade students received a visit from Astronaut Clayton Anderson this afternoon. The Ashland, NE native taught us many facts about space and what it is like to be an astronaut. Here are a few things we learned this afternoon:
1) While in space, astronauts sleep in a sleeping bag tied to the wall.
2) You can't snore while in space. The lack of gravity doesn't allow it.
3) Space food is sticky so it stays on the spoon.
4) Driving to the moon and back is equal to driving around the Earth's equator 10 times!
Ask your 3rd through 6th grader what they learned today! This opportunity was brought to us by the TeamMates program. Contact the school if you are interested in becoming a mentor.

Weather Update: Those traveling to Ravenna for tonights BB game should be good to go, after talking to their AD is said forecast has changed for their area.

We also had the honor to be the deliverers of an impressive amount of amazing, handmade Christmas cards created by classes throughout the school - all the way from Kindergarten to high-school yearbook!
