Pre-K has been learning all about fall these past few weeks! We learned the word 'harvest' while talking about apples and pumpkins, then practiced following recipe directions and making connections by making our own apple and pumpkin pies! 🥧 🍎 🎃

West Holt 8th graders traveled to O'Neill on Monday, November 24th to participate in a career workshop. Students were able to research careers they are interested in or are a good fit.

West holt sophomores traveled to O’Neill Friday, November 21st to participate in Northeast Community College’s Early College/Career Exploration Day. NECC offered students 13 different sessions to pick from and they were able to pick 6. Approximately 150 students from area schools attended the 18-minute sessions on the O’Neill campus. Sessions they had to choose from were: Biology, Business Administration, Building Construction, Criminal Justice, Electrical Pathway Careers, Information Technology, Nurse and Medication Aide, Nursing, Pre-Engineering, EMT, Robotics, Welding and Truck Driving.

Update for JH Girls BB on Monday, 2 quarters of B team starting at 5:00 followed by the A team.

4th graders always enjoy a simultaneous roundtable activity when they do their spelling. In teams, students write a response on their own piece of paper. After two minutes, students rotate clockwise. This continues until all the questions have been answered. Makes for some neat conversation and collaboration!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Mrs. Frickel's Kindergarten class has been learning about pilgrims in Social Studies. They listened to the book "The Story of the Pilgrims " by Katharine Ross and created their own pilgrims.

Congratulations to the West Holt One Act team on their 3rd place finish at a tough GNAC tournament. Individuals recognized as outstanding performers were David Armstrong, Chance Bardwell, Berkleigh Dvorak, Madi Hilkemeier, Ava Hoffman, Morgan Mitchell, Emersyn Mlady, Taylor Nowlin, Peyton Olberding, Jacob Panning, Madalyn Pistulka, Olivia Rentschler, and Taylor Walnofer. Olivia Rentschler was one of four actors selected from all participants for Best Overall Outstanding Performer.
