West Holt FFA members traveled to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana to compete in national events, attend the agricultural expo, and listen to speakers.




2024 Reading Fun Night Information


The Human Anatomy & Physiology class viewing different human tissues under the microscope. Students were able to identify different tissue types as well as recognize specialized cells. This will enable students to understand how and why different systems are able to carry out their specialized functions.



The college credit Technical Math class is using Farming Simulator to create their own farming operation. They are using real-life scale sheets to record data. They will also be writing their own ratio and proportion problems based on the simulation. (And after a tractor accident today we are also going to be covering the cost of insurance!)

West Holt Cross Country competed at the Nebraska State Cross Country Meet last Friday. Several athletes improved on last year's performances. The girls team met their goal of finishing in the top 15.
Drew Martin improved his time from last year by 21 seconds to finish just out of the medals in 16th place. Felycia Kerkman improved her time by 1 minute 22 seconds over last year and finished in 49th. Anel Monasterio ran 1 minute 43 seconds faster than 2023 to finish in 70th. Ava Hoffman finished in 90th. Kearsten Keogh went from the team alternate last year to finishing as the 4th West Holt runner this year in 95th place. Emersyn Mlady finished in 119th place.

As Veterans Day approaches, I feel so blessed to have heartfelt conversations with my K-6th graders about it's history and significance. They have been practicing diligently for our annual Veterans Day program and I truly cannot wait for our veterans and their families to hear them perform. God Bless America!

West Holt Lady Huskies won third place in the Greater Northeast Activities Conference volleyball tournament this weekend! Great work ladies!!


Mrs. Hamm's English class made Arme Riddere, a Danish Dessert that translates to Poor Knight. As part of the novel Number the Stars, they have been studying the Holocaust and the effects of rationing food supplies.

The West Holt Cross Country team had a good meal, got in a nice morning jog, and they're ready to take on the state meet today! Go Huskies!



Last Day to register for the December 14th ACT


We will be having a slideshow honoring veterans during our Veteran Day Program. If you would like to have a picture of your veteran included, you can bring it to the school's office or send it to Mrs. Meyer (sanmeyer@westholt.org). Please include the veteran's name and branch of service.
We will add them to the 200+ pictures we already have in our show.


WH 8th grade students traveled to Norfolk on Thursday to the NECC campus. They learned about careers based on assessments they took prior to going. They took a tour of the campus and at lunch in the cafeteria.
