The 5th graders have been busy planning and designing freshwater collection systems to go along with the Earth System Unit!
Preschool thru 6th grade students have been participating in the Fresh Fruits & Vegetable Program. This is allowing our students to be offered a variety of fruits and vegetables throughout the week. They have had the chance to try blackberries, mini peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, carrots, apples, grapes, clementines, and others. Students have been encouraged to at least try the item of the day. To get kids thinking about other items that would be healthy options and different ways to eat them, we sent home a salsa recipe as well as tomatoes were sent home with the lower grades. The class with the most participation earned themselves a fresh treat. We will be making smoothies with Mrs. Pistulka’s 1st grade class this week! Stay tune for the next healthy treat!
