The kindergartners are using dice to show numeration in mathematics. Dice are a wonderful mathematical tool to use in the early learning stages, especially for teaching early number concepts and place value. Dice are a hands-on, interactive tool that makes learning numbers engaging and fun. Here you see the kindergartners in Mrs. Roemer's room using dice to play a "Gotcha"numeration game. Within this activities, students used multiple basic numeration skills, including counting, subsidizing, and the comparing of numbers one through six.

The West Holt Bands have been hard at work pulling together some songs for the Homecoming football game. This week, the JH Band played the Star Spangled Banner from beginning to end for the first time! They have come such a long way in a short time and I couldn't be more proud! The HS Band members are working on learning pep band music. We even have a high school student who switched from trumpet to clarinet to help build the woodwind section! They all are showing commitment and a fantastic work ethic to help rebuild the band.
The West Holt Choirs are preparing for upcoming concerts and auditions for Honor Choirs and All State Choir. We're finalizing a date & time for those concerts and will publish that information as soon as we have it. The choirs have been learning a wide variety of music and are excited to show them off in a few weeks.
I am a very fortunate music teacher here with the students of West Holt! -Mrs. Barnes
