West Holt Speech came away with 4th place as a team and two events heading off to the Class C State Speech Meet. Olivia Rentschler qualified with her 2nd place humorous prose and 2nd in entertainment speaking. She will compete Friday, March 27th at Kearney High School. Mrs Pistulka's class celebrated Dr Seuss day by listening to Mrs Weber read "Bartholomew and the Oobleck" and making Oobleck.

The elementary student council has started going into the afternoon preschool class for their service project. The student council members are building their leadership skills by working with the preschoolers on skills like turn taking, waiting, sharing, and following simple directions. The student council has come up with activities to do with the preschoolers in small groups. They've played Snakes and Ladders, Keepy-Uppy with a balloon, and a scavenger hunt!

Our 4th grade class was lucky to have Ms. Goochey as our student teacher for the past 9 weeks! She brought great energy to the classroom and did a wonderful job working with our students each day. We are so thankful for the time she spent with us and wish her the best as she continues her journey in education!

West Holt Public Schools will start at 10am tomorrow, Monday, March 16th. There will be no morning preschool.

Congratulations to Brody Galyen, who qualified and competed in the 400 in Boston today at the New Balance Indoor Nationals. He ran a PR of 48.32 and finished 19th in the nation out of 195 qualifiers! (His participation in this meet was NSAA approved.)

Genny Thompson blazed her way to the third quarter, 7th grade CO2 car championship going 4-0 to claim the fastest car in her class!

The Huskies hopped back on the bus to Lutheran High Northeast in Norfolk for the GNAC Speech Meet yesterday, March 9th. It was the last time some events performed this season, and those students stepped up. The Huskies brought home runner-up honors and will carry that energy into districts next week. West Holt will host the C1-5 District Speech Meet on Tuesday, March 17th. Rounds will begin at 9:00, and the public is welcome to attend. Below are results from the GNAC meet. The Speech team completed their regular season at the Creighton PrimeTime Invite on Saturday, March 7th. The invite featured two sets of finals, Champs (1st-6th places) and Next-In (7th-12th places). West Holt placed 4th out of 22 teams. Tomorrow, March 9th, the team travels to the GNAC meet at the Lutheran High Northeast in Norfolk. Rounds will begin at 9:00 AM.
