West Holt students interested in learning about health care careers traveled to O’Neill Wednesday, September 18th. Students from the area gathered at Northeast Community College’s campus in O’Neill for an up-close and hands-on experience hosted by Avera, St. Anthony’s Hospital.
The participants visited 13 different stations where they were able to simulate health care careers, hear more about possible career choices and ask questions from professionals about their respective careers. Some stations offered were: Nursing, Surgery, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, Dietary and Support Services, SIM (Simulator) Truck, and Higher Education Representatives.
West Holt students who participated were:

REMINDER: Today (Wednesday September 18) is PICTURE RETAKE DAY!
Arideth has been showing off her work skills in the high school library. She is an expert at putting protective covering on the new books and checking in and shelving returned books!

West Holt Ag students take to the field to test their knowledge of range management. More than 60 students competed in a local range competition.
The kindergarten class celebrated the letter Mm by having Muffins with Mom this week.
West Holt girls grabbed the runnerup trophy at the Battle Creek Invite today. Four girls medaled in the top 15. Daleni 4th, Brooklynn 8th, Hannah 12th, Ansley T-13.
Sixth graders enjoyed revisiting square dancing this week. Lots of laughs and fun!

Congrats to WH-JV golfers as they played 6 of 11 schools at the Pierce Invite on Sat. Maizy Poessnecker led the Huskies earning the 13th place medal. Sady finished 21st, Megan Fritz 25th & Elizabeth Olson 35th of 53.
After learning about and making representations of numbers Kindergartners painted numbers 0-5 with watercolors!

Congratulations to the Lady Huskies who are the Back-to-Back Creighton Tournament CHAMPIONS!! They took down Summerland 25-20, 25-12; Creighton 25-16, 25-12; Hartington New Castle 25-14, 25-14.
