Hello, my name is Cody Havranek and I am the 7-12 High School Principal at West Holt Public Schools.  My wife, Sarah, and I are both natives to Holt county.  I grew up in O’Neill and my wife is a West Holt graduate.  Throughout my educational career I have taught JH/HS Science at Lexington Public Schools, O’Neill Public Schools, and served as the PK-12 Principal at St. Mary’s in O’Neill for six years.  I have had the privilege to coach several different activities throughout my time in education including football, basketball, wrestling, track, golf, and quiz bowl.  I have enjoyed the relationships that have been built from both students and their families both in and out of the classroom.

My wife and I have three children.  Our children, Ryan (13), Reid (11), and Hadley (8) enjoy golfing, fishing, and boating in the summer.  It seems like we are always busy throughout the school year attending different activities, playing football, basketball, and wrestling.  Hadley enjoys her time at gymnastics practice as well!

When I was interviewing with various groups I kept hearing about how the community of Atkinson rallies around the children in our community.  Through interactions with parents, students, and community members these past three years it is evident that West Holt and the community of Atkinson cares about our students and our community as a whole.  This is evident through friendly students and staff, our excellent facilities, and our supportive school board.  I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as 7-12 Principal at West Holt!
