West Holt 15 Doniphan-Trumball 28
September 04, 2022
West Holt is back in the 11 man ranks and the first two weeks haven’t gone the way of the Huskies. In week 1, the Huskies took to the road and fell to Valentine 41-6, but started out quick scoring on the first possession. We moved the ball well but we had a punt blocked, and dropped a punt which gave Valentine very good field position and it doesn’t matter what level of football you play you can’t give teams that kind of field position. SO that was a point of emphasis for the next week was special teams.
Valentine was a physical run team, where as Doniphan- Trumball was a spread the field and throw the ball team. We didn’t win the game, but I thought we played much better in all phases of the game. We moved the ball real well on offense but couldn’t finish off drives when we got in the red zone. We are taking steps in the right direction and that is what we have told the guys is that we will build this thing brick by brick. I love our attitude and fight this team has. Our next opponent is O’Neill at home starting at 7:00, so if any bikers are around we sure would love to have you.
