Strong Team Effort Lead Huskies to a New Season Low

21 September 2019 -

The golfers headed to Albion Country Club over the weekend and faced twelve teams from across the state. It was another beautiful day with little to no wind and sunny skies. The Huskies saw many new teams at this tournament. The team championship went to Battle Creek with a 382. The lady Huskies had a strong outing with a 427 to earn 5th place.

Leading the Huskies, Lydia Stenka came out firing and shot a three-over 41 on her front nine. Her 41 was a career-low and put her in 2nd at the turn. Stenka went on to shoot a 93 to earn 5th place. Jordyn Laible shot a 101 and came back with a strong back nine of 48. She earned 12th place to round out individual husky medalists. Landyn Mlady shot a career-low of 115 and Hannah Brotsky shot a 118. Rounding out the team was Sam Camp with a 146. The individual medalist was Abby Brodersen of Boone Central with a 79.

The lady huskies continue into the heart of their schedule this week as they play four meets over eight days. On September 24th and 26th, the golfers will be playing at Frederick’s Peak in Valentine. Then they will travel to Laurel on Saturday, September 28th.
