West Holt Speech Champions at Stuart Invite
The West Holt Speech team traveled to Stuart this weekend. This is the meet we share with Stuart, taking turns hosting every other year. The West Holt “speechers” competed very well. The team was able to bring home another championship to add to the previous one from the Valentine meet.
We had thirty-one students from West Holt who competed this weekend. The many hours of practices each student put in on their individual speeches and partner speeches showed off this week when we competed against a total of twenty-one teams. Students did well in their events and many received medals. Along with bringing home medals, each student received useful information and suggestions from the judges, which we will discuss with our speech coaches and use to improve our speeches. Next week at Burwell we will demonstrate these improvements and, hopefully, bring home another championship plaque.
