West Holt JH Cross Country Travels to Ord

September 24, 2018

The West Holt Junior High Cross Country Team traveled to Ord for the Ord Invitational on Friday, September 21, 2018.  With temperatures in the 60s at race time, it was a near perfect day for the meet. The course was 2000 meters, and medals were awarded to the top 10 individuals. Forty-four girls and 48 boys represented the 14 schools at the meet.

         The Husky girls came away as meet champions. They were led by Maddie Davis, who edged out Abby White of Plainview for 1st place. Katelynn Kratz had a strong finish to earn her 8th place medal. Abby Thiele also ran a solid race and finished just outside the medals in 11th place.

         Isaac Pistulka and Ian Larson were the two Husky boy medalists. They finished 4th and 7th respectively. Ian ran one of his strongest races this season. Cutting 1:10 from last year, Tyler Jelinek finished in 15th, followed closely by Emmet Wentworth in 17th. The boys finished in 3rd place as a team.

         The Huskies are looking to close out their season over the next two weeks. They will run at home in the West Holt Invitational on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Come out to cheer them on! The race starts at 4:00p.m.
