West Holt Junior High Cross Country Team Opens Season in Ainsworth

Coach Flannery

September 03, 2018

The West Holt Junior High Cross Country team started their season with the Ainsworth Invitational on Thursday, August 30th. There were ten schools represented with 27 girl and 23 boy runners. The course was a mile in length.

The West Holt Junior high Team is one of the largest in recent years. There are 14 runners, of which only three are returning runners. For many of them this was their first time even attending a cross country meet.

Maddie Davis opened her running career with a first place finish in 6:55. Though medals were only awarded to the top ten finishers, Katelynn Kratz, Abby Thiele, and Maci Nemetz all ran well and rounded out the top 15.

Isaac Pistulka moved up three places and shaved three seconds from his time last year to lead the Husky pack and finish in 3rd place. Newcomer to the team Ian Larson was not far behind finishing in 4th place. Improving on his time from last year by four seconds, Tyler Jelinek finished in 9th place earning himself a medal.

The Huskies head to Butte on September 6th for the Boyd County Invite. The meet starts at 4:15 p.m.
